MML wins Sefika's 2008 Best Large Education Publisher of the Year Award

Maskew Miller Longman is proud to announce that for the third year in a row, we have scooped Sefika's Best Education Publisher of the Year Award in 2008, in the category of Large Education Publisher. The award ceremony was held at the annual PASA/SABA Conference dinner on Tuesday 19 August in Cape Town.
Jane Bursey, MD of Maskew Miller Longman's SA Schools division, accepted the award on behalf of the company, while members of the MML group cheered on.
When asked to comment on MML's success, Jane said: "The Sefika awards are voted for by booksellers across South Africa, and nominees have to meet a wide range of strict criteria, so to be recognised as the best in our field is a great achievement and to have won this award three years in a row is a real honour."
This honour could not have been achieved if it was not for all the dedicated staff who work so hard behind the scenes to make Maskew Miller Longman a success.
This year the Education Publisher category was divided into best large education publisher and best small to medium education publisher. Maskew Miller Longman was voted the best large education publisher, whilst our sister company Pearson Education South Africa walked off with the best small education publisher of the year award, an all round scoop for the company!
The annual Sefika Awards recognise and celebrates the hard work in the publishing and bookselling trade and we'd like to congratulate all the 2008 Sefika winners.
Maskew Miller Longman would like to thank all booksellers for their continued support - we hope 2009 will be a prosperous year for all!
