The first point to make is that Michael Williams knows how to tell a damn good story with strong action and realistic characters. Hang that story on a desperate journey from today’s Zimbabwe through often unfriendly South Africa, and add in an epileptic brother and plenty of xenophobia – and the soccer ball stuffed with Zim dollars. Finally reaching Cape Town, our hero earns a place in the Street Soccer World Cup, though even in that there are troubled loyalties. A convincing, exciting story. |
